Okemos Community Church Women are proud to anounce that the OCC Fall Attic Treasure & Rummage Sale will take place on April 26th & 27th. Doors will open at 9am. (no early entries, no telephone sales, no credit cards) Procides will support missions. Donations of clean, usable items can be left in the lower level of the church starting Sunday March 17th. (We are not excepting large items,including dehunidifers, baby equipment subject to safety standards, some electronic, building suppies etc. ) Please contact the Okemos Community Churh office at 517-349-4220 with any questions about donations.
Adult Study
Part 4
Please sign up for Okemos Community Church Adult Study, Part 4 – “DO” -Living the Questions is a program of curriculum and media for long-time members, as well as those for whom Christianity is a new experience. The materials are designed for the purpose of helping people explore their questions of faith. Part 4 is the last of four, five-week, studies. The sessions, which are available on Thursdays at 9:30 am and 7 pm, and the dates are: April 25 – Incarnation, May 2 – Compassion, May 9 – Politics, May 16 -Passion (the Apostle Paul), May 23 – Resurrection

Food Bank
April 2013
Okemos Community Church Food Bank has been serving our community for over 25 years. We are a member of the Greater Lansing Food Bank. (Pantry b-O-00448-30) Client referrals come from the Ingham County Department of Social Services 517-887-4957 and also from Meridian Township Human Services. As we have very limited facilities for fresh or frozen items, clients are also given a gift card, according to size, to shop at Meijers. It has been exciting to see youth involved in food drives from churches, schools and Scouting, As this past year as over half of the recipients of the OCC Food Bank are ages 0-17 years. We are grateful for your support to meet the increasing need for food assistance in our own community. Our April Shopping List includes the following: Mac & Cheese, Cream Soups, Salad Dressing (Ranch), Bagged Dry Beans, Jam & Jelly, Boxed Potatoes, Stuffing, Tuna, “hardy” Soups & Stew, and Peanut Butter. Please leave your non perishable food donations in the shopping cart outside the Okemos Community Church office or call the office (349-4220) to set up a drop off time.
Cash donations are always needed to purchase food to round out the donations so we can insure we are providing the recommended food assortment. Baptism
April 14th & 28th
The Sacrament of Baptism at Okemos Community Church is currently scheduled for Sunday, April 14th, at the 9:30 am service and Sunday, April 28th, at the 11:00 am service. If you would like to arrange for baptism for yourself or your child at that time, or at a future date, please give the Okemos Community Church office a call at 517-349-4220.
Holy Communion
May 5th 9:30am
The sacrament of Holy Communion will be offered in worship at Okemos Community Church next on Sunday, May 5th, at the 9:30 am worship service. Communion will be served by intinction. The next scheduled time will be Sunday, June 16th at the 10:00 am service. At this time, the elements will be served to the members of the congregation while they are seated in the pews. If you would like the Sacrament brought to you in your home, please phone the Okemos Community Church office. At 517-349-4220 Arrangements will be made for one of the pastors to visit you.
