Okemos Community Church’s second “Sunday on Saturday” Worship will be held on Saturday, January 28^th, at 5:00 in the Chapel.  Our theme for this service of worship will be interpersonal communication.  “Sunday on Saturday Worship” is designed to be contemporary and casual and may or may not be a substitute for your participation in Sunday morning worship.  If you’d like more information about this service, please give the Okemos Community Church office a call at 517-349-4220.

Okemos Community Church will be offering two worship services on Christmas Eve. The 7pm services is a Family Worship experience and our Children’s Choir will be singing.  Yes, wiggling children are welcome at this service! We want the whole family to join us in this worship service. The Second Chirstmas Eve. Service will be a Candle Light Service at 11pm. Okemos Community Church is pleased to announce that we will be combining the traditional Children’s Christmas Program and the Family Music Program in to one event on Sunday December 11 at 5pm. The Family Christmas Programwill combine for an extraordinary show  that showcases the musical talents of OCC friends and family, and the dramatic talents of our church school youth and children. The Okemos Community Church Adult Fellowship committee is happy to anounce that Christmas Sing-Along will be held Friday, December 9th at 7:30pm at the home of the Witters. Sign up will begin on November 20th. Please call the Okemos Community Church office to sign up or to get directions

This month, Okemos Community Church Wednesday Night Alive programs will feature the Las Posadas worship with the breaking of the piñata.  The meals are wonderful.  Linda Omura (Cherry Tree Catering) continues to provide very tasty fare each week.  We do need to have reservations to help with meal planning.  So, make your plans to have dinner with us! December 7 – Matt and Margaret De Long will share pictures and stories from their recent trip to South Africa. Menu:  Beef Stroganoff with Egg Noodles, Vegetable medley, Garlic Bread, and Apple Brown Betty .

December 14 – We will celebrate our annual Las Posadas Service. This is a service from the Hispanic tradition that is intended for the whole family.  We will have a piñata for the children following the service. Menu:  Chicken Enchiladas, Fish Tacos, Refried Beans, and Root Beer Floats. December 21 – No WNA meal or program this week, but please join us for Christmas Caroling at 7:15 p.m. December 28 – No WNA during the holiday break.  Reservations for dinner are needed each week! Okemos Community Church will be celebrating  Las Posadas (Mexican Tradition) on Wednesday December 14th 5:30-7:30pm.  Dinner reservactions are requested.  517-349-4220 Dinner will be served at 5:30 then at 6:30 we’ll joirney to the sanctuary, just like Mary and Joseph’s journey and search for lodging. We will celebrate together in service and afterwards we will return to the social hall  where the children will take part in the breaking of a pinata!

Sunday on Saturday Service – New worship service! After much discussion, planning and prayer, Okemos Community Church is pleased to offer an experience in an alternative time and style of worship to O.C.C. members, friends, and others in our community.  Everyone is welcome. Sunday on Saturday Service will begin on Saturday, October 29^th, in the Chapel at 5:00 pm.  We intend for this experience to be both casual and contemporary and will plan a second such service for sometime in January.  Please call the Okemos Community Church office for more information or to volunteer. 517-349-4220

Okemos Community Church Youth Fellowship meetings are on Sunday afternoons.  Generally Middle School group (6-9^th grade) meets at 4pm, snack at 5:00 p.m. High School group (9-12^th grade) meets at 5 pm for share snack and then meets until 6:30 p.m.  Occasionally, we will have a special activity, different times and locations. As always, you may invite your friends to attend any event. Sunday, October 23, 2:00-4:30 p.m. both groups will meet at the church for a work day.  We will be raking leaves and helping some of our more experienced church members with various fall clean-up tasks.  Bring rakes, gloves and enthusiasm.   

Sunday, October 30, Corn Maze at 4:00 p.m., both groups will meet at the church and go to the Corn Maze in Williamston.  Bring $6.00 for admission.  There are also some snacks for sale on the grounds.
