On Tuesday August 3 our final presentation, we present a joint voice masterclass on vocal basics with Metropolitan Opera soprano Molly Fillmore and our music direction, Alan Nathan. Essential basics of singing are explained in a clear, non-technical way, and we will be joined by a pair of young singers who will demonstrate for us.

On Tuesday July 27th an evening of art song will be provided by our wonderful section leader Jenny Cook in collaboration with Elisabeth Ellis at the piano. The pieces will be preceded by demonstrations and a lecture by Alan Nathan

The Okemos Community Church Youth Fellowship will have some big events in June, July and August. The following events are open to all youth, both middle school and high school. New sixth graders are welcome. Remember, you are always welcome to invite your friends to any event. Be sure to check your e-mail through the summer for up-to-date information about other youth activities.
June 12-13, Saturday and Sunday, sign-up now to participate in the Relay For Life. This is a worthy cause that you will enjoy. Contact Jen Tascarella for times and details.
June 26, Saturday, meet in the youth room (9:00 to noon) to work on a mission project for Haiti involving sewing hospital gowns and putting together school bags.
July 4, Sunday, help with the picnic after worship. This is a fund-raiser for the Spring Break Work Project.
July 11, Sunday, meet at the church to leave for an afternoon canoe trip on the Grand River. (Time TBA) We will drive to Burchfield Park to begin our adventure. Look at your e-mail to get up-to-date information about cost and travel time.
July 27, Tuesday, meet at the church at 6:30 a.m. to go to CEDAR POINT. Make reservations with Jen or Paul by Friday, July 23. Yes, this means we may not have space for you if you just show up onTuesday.

Okemos Community Church Annual Congregational Meeting will be Sunday, June 27, 11:15a.m. in the Sanctuary. All members of the congregation are invited! Stay after worship to hear the news of our Church. Childcare will be available.
Okemos Community Church Mission Project for June is to make various items for the Midwest Mission Distribution Center (for more information see the Post for June Mission Buckets) We will be meeting at the church social hall on Friday June 25 and Saturday June 28, 9-noon and 1:30-4 both days. Please bring a dish to pass for lunch and scissors, ruler, sewing machines, pins and fabric if available. Monetary donations are also welcome. We will be working on school bags and children’s hospital gowns. No sewing experience is needed. The lower level doors will be open. Please come for one or for all 4 sessions!
Please join us in honoring our graduating High School Seniors on Sunday, June 6th at our 10 am service. Please plan on staying after the service for fellowship in our lounge. Hope to see you there!
