On Tuesday, June 29th we will begin our summer music education concerts with what proved to be one of our most popular events from last year, a piano duet lecture recital with our own Ellisabeth Ellis  and Alan Nathan. The concert will include popular selections by Mozart, Debussy and Wagner with explanations and examples to enhance your understanding chosen from the program’s selections.

On Tuesday, July 6th we will enjoy an evening of classical vocal music sung by Youjin Na, with Alan Nathan providing detailed information on the music and text. The program will include music of Bellini, Debussy, Poulenc, religious songs by Hugo Wolf and an aria by Puccini.

On Tuesday July 27th an evening of art song will be provided by our wonderful section leader Jenny Cook in collaboration with Elisabeth Ellis at the piano. The pieces will be preceded by demonstrations and a lecture by Alan Nathan

On Tuesday August 3 our final presentation, we present a joint voice masterclass on vocal basics with Metropolitan Opera soprano Molly Fillmore and our music direction, Alan Nathan. Essential basics of singing are explained in a clear, non-technical way, and we will be joined by a pair of young singers who will demonstrate for us.
